My wife and I drove an hour to The Auld Mill Bakery because we'd heard so many good things about it. We were not disappointed. Lovely, welcoming staff, a beautiful rural location with lots of outdoor seating, and absolutely top-tier food. We had their rhubarb-and-custard and apple-and-cinnamon brioches and one of their jam and cream donuts. We also sampled their hot savoury baked goods including their Cornish pasties and steak-and-kidney pies. Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered coffee which was as good as you'd get in any cafe anywhere, we had gorgeous creamy 99's (ice cream) for dessert and went home with a loaf of their fruit soda bread that needs to be tasted to be believed! If you have to get a flat tire in Ireland, try to make sure this bakery is nearby. Otherwise, be certain to stop in on purpose. Everything we tried was excellent and made on premises, plus the folks that work there were very kind. My only complaint is that I can't give more than 5 stars.

Sehr leckerer Karottenkuchen und Muffins, hervorragender Cappuccino. Sehr empfehlenswert. Im Grunde schade, dass es nur eine Bäckerei ohne Sitzmöglichkeiten ist. Waren auf der Durchreise und hätten hier gerne etwas Pause gemacht. So mussten im Auto genießen.

I am being serious when I say I had the chocolate cream donut here last year and I have probably thought about it fondly every day since. In a sense, it's lucky I don't live close by as I'd be eating them all the time. They are that good. You've got to try them.
